Josh was a Bonner Scholar and upcoming senior at Emory and Henry College. He never met a stranger and always had a smile. He had a caring and compassionate spirit and was always willing to help family or friends. Josh also made a difference in many young lives with his volunteer service at the Boys and Girls Club of America and as a tutor at local high schools. The quote that best describes my son is, “If something comes to life in others because of you, then you have made an approach to immortality.” It is with a certainty that I can tell you something has come to life in others because of Josh. We will reunite someday!

“The week after my surgery I was able to read the seventh line on the eye chart. My husband and I were elated. I say a prayer of thanks everyday for your loved one. One who thought enough about mankind to give someone the gift of sight. It is a very humbling experience to be one on the receiving end.”
