Old Dominion Eye Foundation, Inc. is committed to developing strong relationships with our surgeons and their staff. ODEF is a full service eye bank. We provide eye tissue for PK, DMEK, DSEK, and other surgeries where scleral or corneal tissue is needed. Corneal tissue can be prepped according to surgeon’s needs and specifications, and all tissue is processed in a class 7 clean room. We also offer a variety of tissues for research and education needs, including whole eyes, posterior poles, retinas and corneas. ODEF is also committed to providing tissue for charitable causes, we work with surgeons and hospitals to provide gratis tissue when needed.  ODEF serves Northern, Central, and Southwest Virginia and is a member of, and accredited by, the Eye Bank Association of America. We have established relationships with many other eye banks around the country, and we work hard to make sure that all scheduled surgeries are filled using ODEF tissue, or tissue from other EBAA accredited eye banks.  ODEF welcomes an open dialogue with our surgeons to keep us involved with cutting edge issues surrounding corneal transplantation.
