Our youngest son also named Rodney has an eye disease named Keratoconus. He has had a cornea transplant and will need another one for his other eye in the future. So the fact that his father was only able to donate his cornea was very special to us as a family. Rodney and his father were very close and it was very special to all of us that his father was able to help someone just as someone was able to help his son.
Honor your loved one and their thoughtful decision to donate.
“The week after my surgery I was able to read the seventh line on the eye chart. My husband and I were elated. I say a prayer of thanks everyday for your loved one. One who thought enough about mankind to give someone the gift of sight. It is a very humbling experience to be one on the receiving end.”
